In 2016, browsing through local MLS listings, Jeremiah noticed a common theme with property photos. Most photos were composed poorly and had lighting that left a lot to be desired. As a photographer, he knew he could do better, and help agents attract more potential buyers. Jeremiah started Johnston Real Estate Photography to help local real estate agents serve their clients.
For years, Mary often worked as an assistant during Jeremiah's shoots, but focused mostly on being mom to their five children or teaching middle school students. As Mary's love of photography grew, Jeremiah trained her to "go solo".
